Find a Pro matches every home-service pro to the state s own license records before they re listed, then re-checks them every morning. So far that s 181,000+ pros in 27 states and DC. When a license lapses, the pro comes off the list, which has already happened about 400 times. Nobody pays to be listed or to rank.
Getting the records was the strange part. Some states post their license lists for free. Some sell them for $10 to $50 by mailed check. A few turned us down because they only answer requests from their own residents.
