Have you ever clicked on a post because you couldn't ignore the hook...

...only to finish and realize it didn't actually say anything new?

Lately it feels like we're getting really good at optimizing how we say things, but not necessarily what we're saying.

There are endless frameworks for writing better hooks, finding trending topics, and reverse engineering viral posts.

But if everyone is using the same playbook, we end up with different creators saying the same thing in slightly different ways.

The people I keep coming back to aren't the ones with the best hooks.

They're the ones with something worth saying.

Maybe social media doesn't need more content with hype structure.

Maybe it needs more people developing their own perspective and knowing what resonates with their community instead of chasing what worked for someone else's.

Curious if anyone else has noticed this.

Honestly, there are only two things that make me stop: Image + hook.

Nika! Long time no chat. I completely agree. And when the post actually delivers on that hook, it's such a satisfying read.

I still think hook matter ,but only if they're introducing an idea that's genuinely worth exploring.

Yes exacly or else its like taking a bite of a burg and finding out its undercooked 😂

Yeah, many times :)

A strong hook can get the click, but it can't make people come back. I think people remember those who share real useful content, even if the writing isn't perfect. That's much harder to copy than a catchy opening.

Yes, I see that a lot

On Android, there is a news feed which I find quite interesting, but a lot of times I get these types of posts, sometimes even from sources I trust/like!

It's a dangerous strategy though because if I find the same source do it more than once then I block them

i'd push back a little - the hook still matters for the first click, you can't have a perspective if nobody stops scrolling long enough to read it. the real problem is when the hook is the ONLY thing that got optimized and the actual opinion underneath is generic enough to fit any account. good hook + nothing behind it is what makes people feel baited, not the hook itself.

Yes exactlyy I'd go for less posts but more substance :)
