Are you even running paid ads?

I feel like most people on Product Hunt are too afraid to run paid ads.

Meanwhile, it's been one of the biggest drivers of growth at all the startups and projects I've worked on.

I'm super curious on what everyone's relationship is like with paid ads?

We've rebuilt Fastlane from the ground up to be the world's first end to end AI agent for paid ads, so would love to understand this especially!

Not yet. I haven't launched, and ad platforms have extra checks for anything financial. I want to know which message works before I pay to test it. For now it's posting updates and talking to people in threads like this. If ads worked for you early, did you already know how to describe your product? I've run ads on previous projects to a mixed-bag of results, so I'm still trying to find my footing with the right audience before I greenlight spend again. If you're boostrapping this makes it even harder.

Honestly, just run multiple ad variations all speaking to different audiences with different text copy, and use the data to understand what angles are most resonant. This is a huge unlock, but of course is costly in the short-term.

Being my first product and launch, I know that paid ads are necessary and did it for a while but wasn't seeing enough sign ups to generate enough traction. So I am taking a pause on the paid adds and focusing on getting my SEO optimized before I continue with paid adds again.

Interesting! What paid channels did you use?

I used Meta ads, my budget was really low though and I heard it needs a daily budget of at least $25 per day in order for the algorithm to start working properly. I'm not sure how true that figure is and what kind of improvement it gets (hopefully one day I will have that kind of budget to find out ;) )

Yes definitely, the general lowest budget is throwing in $30/day as a tester/intro.

Another huge point is getting tracking setup right, so you've got real visibility!
