EVY - A neural arpeggiator for melodic emergence

by•
Unlike most AI music tools, EVY by Allendia never trains on copyrighted tracks. It uses random neural networks to generate melodies and rhythms in real time inside your DAW (Ableton, GarageBand, Reaper). Frugal, ethical, and fully parameterizable: sculpt randomness, use it live as a true instrument. No black box, no plagiarism, just a new creative tool for musicians.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Huguette, co-founder of Allendia. We just launched EVY, an AI music plugin that generates melodies and rhythmic sequences without ever training on copyrighted tracks. Why does that matter? Most AI music tools learn from massive datasets of existing songs. That raises ethical and legal questions, and often makes the output feel like a remix of the past. EVY takes another path: it uses random neural networks. No training on protected works. Just a few dozen neurons, very little compute, and a lot of creative potential. EVY runs inside your DAW (Ableton, GarageBand, Reaper…) and lets you sculpt randomness with about fifteen parameters: note selection, rhythm, network structure. It’s not here to replace you. It’s here to give you a new instrument to explore ideas, break writer’s block, and perform live. The project started at a hackathon in 2023. I’m a neuroscientist and musician; my co-founder Tara is an AI researcher and bassist. We built Allendia around a simple belief: AI music can be frugal, ethical, and deeply musical. We’re a French startup, backed by Inria Startup Studio and laureate of i-PhD 2025. Today is a big day for us. I’d love your feedback: – What’s the first project you’d use EVY on? – Which parameters matter most when you generate melodies? – Any questions about the tech or the ethics? Thanks for being here. If EVY resonates with you, an upvote helps a lot, and I’ll be around all day to answer everything. Let’s make some music. 🎹
