What makes a weekly competitor brief useful enough to act on?
I build EvidentSignal. One question behind the product is how to turn a competitor update into a decision instead of another link in a feed.
A useful manual brief can separate five things:
1. Observation: what actually changed.
2. Evidence: the original source and date.
3. Implication: why it might matter to a specific decision.
4. Uncertainty: what still needs checking.
5. Next action: an owner and a concrete follow-up.
For a pricing change, for example, check currency, billing period, eligibility and included features before calling it a price increase.
We published an editable template that can be used without an account: https://evidentsignal.com/templates/competitor-brief/
What field would you add, and which competitor updates usually turn out to be noise?
