Built 22 language apps with 1,320 store listings. Fully automated. Launching soon.
Hey Product Hunt đź‘‹
I'm launching Erla soon—a language learning app built on one principle: understanding is everything.
Here's the core idea:
If you can't understand what you hear and read, you can't speak or write well. It's impossible. Understanding must come first—everything else follows naturally.
This is how children learn languages. They listen for months, absorb context, build comprehension. Only then do they start speaking.
What Erla does:
Listening: Native audio in real-life scenarios. Train your ear to understand before you try to produce.
Reading: Interactive stories where you can tap any sentence to see translations and grammar. Build comprehension through context.
No speaking exercises yet. No writing drills. Just pure focus on understanding first.
Once you understand, speaking and writing become much easier. But most apps skip this step and jump straight to production—that's why people struggle.
Tech details:
22 languages
AI-powered native audio
Built solo, bootstrapped
1,320 automated store listings
Need your feedback before launch:
Does "understanding first" make sense as a methodology?
Have you experienced this gap (can't understand but forced to speak)?
What am I missing?
Be honest. This is about building something that actually works.
