Ejectify is a Mac menu bar utility that helps prevent “Disk Not Ejected Properly” alerts by safely unmounting selected volumes before sleep or display-off events, then mounting them again after wake. This can also reduce the risk of data loss and volume corruption. Ejectify 2 adds more reliable mounting and unmounting with an optional privileged helper, support for more volume types, and localization in 30+ languages.

Hi Product Hunt, I’m Niels, the developer of Ejectify. I originally built Ejectify to solve a small but persistent Mac annoyance: external drives not being safely ejected when a Mac goes to sleep, followed by a pile of “Disk Not Ejected Properly” alerts after wake. Instead of manually ejecting drives every time, Ejectify can automatically unmount selected volumes before sleep or display-off events, then mount them again after wake.
