The original Dynamic Island on the MacBook
Hey everyone!
I’ve always felt that the MacBook notch is a wasted space, and existing solutions didn't feel "native" enough or lacked the satisfying, organic feel of the iOS Dynamic Island.
So, I built DynamicNotch — a native macOS app built from the ground up on SwiftUI and AppKit to turn the notch (or a floating capsule on non-notched monitors) into a living system surface.

Key Highlights:
🌀 True-to-life iOS Physics: It runs on a custom physics engine mimicking the jelly-like morphing, squishing, stretching, and elastic behaviors of the original Dynamic Island.
🎵 Live Activities: Media player (with album artwork, audio visualizer, and synchronized lyrics search via LRCLIB!), download progress, AirDrop, active Timers, Screen Recording, and Hotspot indicators.
👆 Interactive Gestures: Drag to expand, trackpad/mouse swipes to dismiss or restore, and interactive scroll controls.
🔋 System HUD Alerts: Beautiful overlays for Battery status (low/full/charging), Bluetooth connections, Wi-Fi, VPN, and Volume changes.
⚙️ Highly Customizable: Customize notch size, offsets, borders, animation presets, and choose which display it appears on (supports multi-monitor setups!).
🛠️ 100% Native & Open Source: Written in Swift. No heavy web wrappers. Lightweight and fast.
It is completely free, and the source code is public. If your Mac doesn't have a hardware notch, the app automatically transitions into a floating Dynamic Island capsule!
