Why we stopped trying to build a better AI chatbot and built a GTM operator instead
We spent three months building what we thought was a better AI assistant for growth teams.
It was good at generating content. It gave solid strategic recommendations. Teams liked the output.
Then we watched how they actually used it.
They would take the content and paste it into another tool. They would take the recommendation and execute it manually in three separate platforms. They would come back an hour later to ask a follow-up question.
The assistant was stopping at the edge of the work. It was handing teams a to-do list, dressed up as an answer.
We stopped and asked what the job actually was. The job was not to produce content. The job was to get the content into the right channel, on the right schedule, and to know whether it moved anything.
That is how dolv became an operator instead of an assistant. The output is not text. The output is work that got done.
