Has anyone found a way to frame GTM ROI that finance teams actually accept?
by•
The gap between what marketing measures and what finance recognizes as ROI is one of the most persistent problems in GTM operations.
Marketing says: impressions, MQLs, pipeline influenced, content published.
Finance says: revenue, CAC, payback period, headcount equivalent.
The translation layer between those two languages breaks down in almost every company I have seen, and it breaks down at the moment a budget decision needs to be made.
For growth and marketing operators who have actually succeeded in getting finance to trust and accept their ROI framing, what was the framing that worked? And what did you have to stop measuring to make the argument cleaner?
