We made the top 5. A few things I learned along the way
We launched DocsAlot MCP on Product Hunt and finished the day in the top 5.
A few things stood out to me from working on it.
First, momentum really matters. The rankings move around a lot, so being active throughout the day makes a big difference.
Second, do not underestimate the final push. Early support is important, but there is still a lot that can change later in the day.
And probably the most practical lesson, prepare as much as possible before launch. Having our images, video, and posts ready saved us a lot of stress once things got busy.
The launch eventually made the top 5 and was featured in the Product Hunt newsletter, so it was a pretty good one to learn from.
For anyone who has launched before, what part of launch day made the biggest difference for you?

congrats on the top 5. the "prepare everything before launch" point is underrated - we launched Dial in September and I remember thinking the day itself would be the hard part, but it was actually the week before scrambling to get assets ready that almost broke us. the thing that made the biggest difference for us wasn't the morning push, it was having a few people genuinely active in the comments all day instead of front-loading everything at 12:01am and going quiet. did you find the afternoon/evening traffic was mostly new visitors or people coming back to check the ranking?
