DockDuck 1.1.10 is out 🎉

by•

This release brings your files to you: a Drawer that slides in over any app, camera cards copied safely to your drives, and every Mail attachment in one place.

The Drawer

A small window of files that slides in over any app with Control Option Command D. It shows the folder you work in, and a tree to pick another folder, a disk or your recent files. A magnifier searches the whole Mac. Drag a file out of it into the email, chat or page you are writing, or drop an image from a web page or a Mail attachment on it to save it there. Pin it to keep it over your other apps. View, Show Drawer Button puts it one click away at the edge of the screen.

Camera cards

Put in a memory card from a camera and DockDuck offers to copy it to your photo drive and to one or two backup drives at the same time. Every copy is read back and compared with the card before DockDuck says the card is safe to format. Offloading the same card again only copies what is new, and the card itself is never changed.

Mail Attachments

Every file you received in Apple Mail, in one place: who sent it, the subject, the date and the mailbox. Search by name, sender or subject, Quick Look it, or drag it to any folder. DockDuck only reads what Mail saved on your Mac and never changes Mail. Turn it on in Settings, Mail Attachments.

A new Shelf

It floats over the bottom of the window as a slim capsule with real previews of what it holds. Open it to pick some files or all of them, then Move Here, Copy Here or Make Alias.

Gradient themes

Ciruela, Aurora, Brasa, Océano and Crepúsculo, each in dark and light, paint your files over a soft gradient. Find them in Settings, Appearance.

Also new

- With two or more panes, each one is its own card, with a handle between them to resize or flip them.

- The column view gets the same header as the other views, with Sort and kinds.

- Open a folder in place in the list and its long names fit, without scrolling sideways.

- Drag the sidebar's edge to hide it, as in Finder.

- Switch workspaces in the same window, and a workspace can have no color.

- The yellow duck is now DockDuck's icon for everyone.

Fixed

- Dragging a file to the Desktop or a Finder window moves it, as in Finder, instead of leaving an alias.

- Replace keeps the file it replaces in the Trash, so you can put it back.

- Servers no longer disappear when you open a workspace.

- Open folders in tabs instead of new windows now works.

- In full screen, the tabs, path bar and buttons stay at the top.

- macOS no longer asks to let DockDuck read data from other apps when it opens.

- Cloud drives show their own icon, and the empty gear in cloud folders is gone.

- Dropping several files on the Shelf at once could close the app.

- And many smaller fixes, in all 19 languages.
