Thank you for hunting us! For frontend developers, creating a backend has never been easier! We spent the last few month engineering a fast, flexible and reliable database, designed from the ground-up for GraphQL. Our experience in building an enterprise database has made this an extremely high-performance piece of software. To get started, all you have to do is specify a schema for what your data looks like, and we handle the rest. You can instantly plug into a production-ready database that handles everything messy and difficult about backend engineering. And if you don't know GraphQL -- we have a schema writing assistant that can help you. Cut the boring stuff out of development -- use Slash GraphQL! PS: We have a very generous free tier! You will get 10k credits a month which you can use to create backends to play around with. Our paid plans start as low as $49/month.
Going from GraphQL schema to a production backend in one-click is pretty insane 🤩. Also with live subscriptions, I see this as an alternative for my projects where currently I am using firebase 🤔
Thanks! Glad to hear you are finding this useful. We are really looking forward to seeing what you are building.
Great product
Thanks for the compliment!
Sorry, I'm a database noob, but If I understood it right, together with a hosted database it seems to be a good solution for JAMStack, right? What are the benefits of Slash GraphQL compare to FaunaDB? Thanks!
Yes it a great fit for JAMStack! It is unique since it enables the developer to access the only native GraphQL database - Dgraph with no setup. It doesn’t run on top of another database like PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
Thanks! Definitely will give it a try! Liked the visual schema builder so far.
As a frontend developer, I struggle thinking about my backend even for smaller mvp project, this solves all my needs
Thank you Mohit. Good to hear this is something you are trying out. Let us know what you're building :-).
Just attended Manish's Keynotes. Amazing product with amazing idea. I'm gonna try it for sure.
Nice to see you here!!! And thanks for the feedback. Looking forward to seeing what you build!
- Very cool stuff! 1. Is DGraph the datastore for Slash? 2. Anyway to run DQL on Slashs datastore for advanced querying? 3. I've been using Hasura quiet a bit and absolutely love it. Authentication, Subsbcriptions, Graphql its pretty much got everything i need and it just works. What would you say are the advantages to Slash over Hasura ( apart from the self managed part )
1) Yup, it's dgraph underneath. 2) Yes, we do have support for DQL, in a few different ways:
Just the thing even a data scientist needed to dig into the world of graphQL
:-). Totally agree with you here. Writing queries on the fly is something that dgraph excels at, and we hope you find Slash GraphQL useful!
Awesome stuff!
Thanks!
Wow, nice product, what's about the authentication?
Thank you :-). We support authentication via a JWT token. You can set up a shared key or a public key. Some documentation about this over here:
