DeskFlow - Visual desk setup planner & cable compatibility checker

by
Planning a desk setup is fun, but figuring out cable compatibility is a headache. DeskFlow is a free, drag-and-drop visual planner. Just add your gear (Macs, monitors, docks) and connect the ports. The app auto-validates connections and instantly generates a shopping list of the exact cables and adapters you need. Say goodbye to buying the wrong cables!

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm so excited to finally share DeskFlow with you all! 🤔 The Problem: Like many of you, I love optimizing my workspace. But every time I wanted to upgrade my setup or add a new monitor, I ran into the same headache: "Wait, does this dock support a 4K 120Hz monitor? Do I need a Thunderbolt 4 cable or will a standard USB-C work? Can I connect a DP out to an HDMI in?" I got tired of guessing and buying the wrong cables. 💡 The Solution: So, I spent my evenings building DeskFlow. It’s a completely free, no-login visual planner running right in your browser. You simply drag and drop your gear (MacBooks, monitors, KVMs, docks) onto the canvas and draw connections between ports. DeskFlow automatically checks the physical and technological compatibility, blocking invalid connections, and instantly generates a shopping list of the exact cables and adapters you need. 🛠️ What’s Next & Feedback: It’s built with Flutter Web and is still in its early stages. I’m currently adding devices to the database manually, so if your specific gear is missing, you can use the "+ Custom Node" feature—or just let me know in the comments and I'll add it! I would absolutely love to hear your feedback, bug reports, or any feature requests. Thanks for checking it out, and I hope DeskFlow saves you from future cable headaches! 🚀🔌
