When I was running Product Analytics at Revolut, we had a very simple problem - we wanted to analyse customer feedback from 20 countries for sentiment - it took us data transformation, passing through Google's autoML APIs and then feeding data back - basically a month of data engineering work. Now Infer is a game changer, because I can just implement this as part of my dbt pipeline and now I will have cross-platform and cross-language pipeline to solve analytics+ML hybrid problems. Let's figure out a way to bring this to our Paradime platform 🤩

Thanks @kaustav! Really appreciate it! Think you just made a better pitch for it then we did 😆 Yes! Let's get Infer into Paradime 🤩🚀 Paradime+Infer what an amazing platform 🔥

Hi 👋 I am Erik, co-founder at Infer 😊 Today we are launching our dbt integration. I’ll explain below in a bit more detail what that means but first I’ll describe what Infer is. Infer is on a mission to create the next generation of analytics. As part of this, we have created an extension to SQL, called SQL-inf, that works on any dialect of SQL. This extension introduces a set of new ML-powered commands, designed with analysts in mind. They enable you to perform predictive analytics, text analysis, forecasting, segmentations, similarity scoring, and much more. All within SQL. All with an emphasis on explainability. Infer supports a number of ways to do this: via the Infer platform, via an API, or by using dbt. We'll be adding more BI tools (currently beta testing Tableau!) soon. Our dbt integration enables you to use next-gen analytics commands natively in your dbt models. You can now solve use cases like churn analysis, sentiment analysis, translation, customer segmentation, LTV prediction, lead scoring and much more, right in your dbt models. For more use cases checkout our use case page. The setup is super easy. All you need do is setup an Infer account, install the dbt-infer package, and make a small change to our `profiles.yml`. Check out the details here. If you are a dbt user have a look and let us know what you think — we would love your feedback! 🤗 P.S. we are also working on closer dbt integration within our platform, so a lot more to come 🤩 The Infer Team

@erik_mathiesen_dreyfus Hi all! Ryan, the other co-founder here. 👋 To add to this - if there any other use cases that aren't covered here, we'd love to hear about them!

Congratulations on launching! I'm very intrigued with dbt-Infer. I'm not a dbt user myself but members of my squad on the day job swear by dbt. I've just shared dbt-infer with them and will relay feedback. Maybe I'll start using dbt-infer myself given how promising it looks!
Ryan Garland
@ed_forson Amazing, thanks so much Eddie! We'd love to hear any feedback from them. We'll check back in in a little while to see how they get on. :)
Erik Mathiesen-Dreyfus
Thanks @ed_forson! As Ryan said, any feedback much appreciated! 🙏

@erik_mathiesen_dreyfus Fore sure Erik! The team on my day job is currently evaluating whether it could fit with our use case 👌🏿

🎉 Congratulations on the launch of the dbt integration! I'm curious, what type of predictive analytics, text analysis, and forecasting can I now do with Infer and dbt? 😁 I'm excited to explore all the possibilities! 🤩
Ryan Garland
@paolo_degiglio thanks Paolo, much appreciated! We have lots of nifty examples on our website (https://www.getinfer.io/use-cases) and docs (https://docs.getinfer.io/docs/in..., https://docs.getinfer.io/docs/tu...). - For predictive analytics - you can use EXPLAIN + PREDICT to understand any what is driving your KPIs ('Driver Analysis'), e.g. product engagement, total sales, etc. We also have simpler exploratory commands like CORRELATION, AB_TEST, UPLIFT, which can help build up a full narrative! - for text analysis you can TRANSLATE any text to English, get the SENTIMENT, and even get TOPICS - Our forecasting is great for anything with strong seasonality and trends - the number of bookings for hotels, flights; the number of visitors to your app, etc. We also break down the trend so you can clearly understand what is driving the forecast! Hope that helps. :)
Paolo De Giglio 🚀
@ryanrgarland Very Helpful thanks !!!

Thanks for kind words @paolo_degiglio! Let us know how it goes!! 🙏

I'm not a dbt user, but I have to mention: the video is super epic, and I can't wait to see the whole movie in the theatre soon I hope Infer gets adopted, it seems pretty useful! Congrats on the launch!
Erik Mathiesen-Dreyfus
Thanks @steevep! I am pretty proud of that one, some of my best work 😄

Looks seriously exciting!

Thanks @carlo_thissen 🙏 Any feedback you might have much appreciated!

Congrats on the launch...this is really cool. Sounds like a SQL wizard is here to save the day! Having ML-powers in SQL to find insights, make predictions, and identify patterns…could be the superhero the data world needs

Thanks @codecamcode! Love the term SQL wizard 🧙‍♂️
