Job seekers: which application question makes you close the tab?
by•
Hi all, I'm Dave. I'm building Daybreak, an AI agent that finds roles and fills in applications for you (launching here Nov 4).
Building it has shown me how much of the job search is busywork. The same "Will you require sponsorship?" question is worded a dozen different ways. Plenty of "new jobs for you" alerts are weeks old, and your odds of hearing back drop the older a posting gets. And 57% of job seekers have abandoned an application partway through because it was too long (LiveCareer, 2025).

So I'm curious: what's the one question or step on an application that makes you give up? A dropdown with 200 options, retyping your résumé, the "why us?" essay?
I'll reply to everyone, and the worst offenders will shape what Daybreak handles next.
