Hey Product Hunt 👋 Here is what a normal Tuesday looked like before Dartform existed.I needed to add a model. So I opened a YAML file and began designing my data architecture in plain text, with no visual feedback, no relationship validation, and absolutely no way of knowing if any of it made sense until I ran the generator, read the output, noticed a mistake, fixed the YAML, ran the generator again, and repeated this until I either got it right or gave up and went for a walk. The Serverpod team has built something genuinely remarkable: a Dart-native backend framework with type-safe endpoints, code generation, ORM, and auth, designed specifically to pair with Flutter. That’s years of careful, considered work. And it’s because the core is this good that the gap became visible to me. Serverpod developers currently have no visual way to design and architect their backend. Every schema change means re-reading generated files. Every endpoint test means curl or Postman. Every architecture conversation means drawing diagrams by hand. Then I needed to test an endpoint. I reached for a database client, downloaded it, installed it, configured it, connected it, only to realise I had forgotten to run the Serverpod generate command first, which meant nothing I was looking at reflected anything I had just built. So I ran the command. Then I wrote the boilerplate again. Then I tested. Then I changed something and started over. This was my backend. I designed it. I built it. And I could not see it. I looked for a tool that could bring it all together visually. Something that would let me design my models without living in YAML. Test endpoints without installing a separate client. See my architecture without running commands and reading output. It didn’t exist. Dartform is a visual IDE companion for Serverpod developers. When you sign up, a small celebration breaks out at Mobterest Studio. Your Serverpod project is carefully read (every schema file, every model, every endpoint) and transformed, with great ceremony, into a visual experience your backend has never had before. → Your models are now designed visually. No more YAML guesswork. No more running the generator to find out you had a typo in a relationship. → Your entire backend architecture has been rendered as a beautiful ER diagram, auto-generated from your schema files, updating itself every time you change something. You can now see what you built. → Your endpoints are browsable. Testable. Right there. No separate client to install. No boilerplate to write. No forgotten generate commands standing between you and your own API. → Everything is in sync. Always. Your latest changes are already there, waiting for you, without being asked. This is Dartform. Currently available on macOS. Windows and Linux are on their way and will be celebrated with similar enthusiasm when they arrive. And to everyone who has ever spent a Tuesday designing a data model in a YAML file and hoping for the best, this one is for you. I’d love to know what you think, and what’s still missing. Joy 🚀
