Cutting Board - Kitchen HQ - Recipes, shopping lists, and kitchen inventory made simple

by
Saving recipes, choosing what to make, and making your shopping list is super easy with this app. It helps answer the question of "what's for dinner" and then "what do I need from the store" as well as "what do we still have at home?"

Cutting Board has been an idea I've been working on for several years and changed a lot from its first inception. Originally it was going to be a meal planning app, but later I decided I wanted to make a sort of "recipe book in your pocket." Later on, I made a website while learning backend web development, and then I revisited this app using that site as an API, and then dropped the site entirely in favor of cloudkit, meaning there was no longer any need for auth, because the user is already logged in if they can download the app. Now the problem I'm finding it solving the best is choosing recipes with a fun dice roll, and then putting the necessary ingredients in my shopping list. There's a lot of updates I have planned for it in the future, but as it stands I'm quite proud of what it's become so far.

The dice roll for choosing a recipe is the feature that's going to save my household from the "I don't know, what do you want" loop every single evening.

Hey Dustin, this is super cool and has a huge potential, keep up the good work!

I'm launching today as well, so I wish you a great launch and upvoted you.

PS: for your app store screenshots you'd get better ASO results with actual phone mockups, that can make a difference

My main question is around the kitchen inventory side. Keeping that up to date manually is the part where these apps always fall apart for me because it becomes another chore
