Hey Product Hunt! I built Cutout because I was tired of paying $40/month for Remove.bg, and I didn't love that they upload every photo I process to their servers. For personal photos and sensitive images, that wasn't acceptable. Cutout runs the AI model entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. There is no backend. Your photos literally never leave your device. It handles transparent PNG exports, batch processing (great for e-commerce sellers), and has a manual refine brush for tricky edges. Would love your feedback! Happy to answer any questions about the WASM model or the architecture. Also check out ShrinkRay (my file compressor) and ConvertIt — same privacy-first model!

love that everything runs client-side with WebAssembly, no server roundtrips and no surprise subscription fees. the manual refine brush is a thoughtful touch for anyone who actually works with edge cases.

How well does the in-browser AI handle tricky edges like hair or fur on busy backgrounds? Curious since doing it all client-side sounds like the model has to be pretty lightweight.

The fact that this runs entirely client-side with WebAssembly is genuinely impressive, no server costs, no privacy concerns, no annoying paywalls. Love that the manual refine brush is included too, because AI backgrounds are never 100% perfect on hair or fuzzy edges.
