Show HN: CrumbKit — A privacy-first cookie editor that actually respects your privacy
I built CrumbKit after the most popular cookie editor (EditThisCookie, 3M+ users) got pulled from the Chrome Web Store — and a malicious copycat filled the gap,
stealing Facebook credentials from 50,000+ users.
CrumbKit is my answer: a cookie editor you can actually trust.
🔒 What makes it different:
• Zero network requests — verifiable in Chrome DevTools. No analytics, no telemetry, no phoning home.
• MIT open source — every line of code is on GitHub. You don't have to trust me, you can read it yourself.
• Privacy score (0–100) for every site — classifies cookies into Essential, Functional, Analytics, Advertising, and Social. You'll know instantly if a site is
tracking you.
• Completely free. No Pro tier, no subscription, no ads. I make other developer tools — this one is my gift to the community.
🛠️ What it does:
• View, create, edit, delete cookies for any site
• Export/import: JSON, Netscape (curl/wget), cURL
• Domain whitelist — protect login cookies from bulk deletion
• Undo (Ctrl+Z, up to 50 actions)
• Dark/light mode
Built from scratch for Manifest V3. Vanilla JS, no frameworks, under 85KB.
