Helps me label species of animals and plants that I'd otherwise need to spend hours, copy-pasting into web image search tools. It also does higher level concepts (like "plant", "person", "happy", "smiling") to help keyword photos so that they're easier to retrieve later on. At the top end, it can even generate titles and descriptions, all without cloud services. It keeps your photos on your machine and can also be substantially faster without the need to transfer files. It's also free.

Hey Eric, How accurate are the species-level identifications, especially for lesser-known species? Congrats on the launch!
Eric Shieh
@kyrylosilin It depends on which category. Flowers/Leaves are fairly accurate (~80% range), many of the birds, insects, fungi are in the 65% range, and amphibians/reptiles in the 55% range. That across a broad population, so depending on how lesser-known, the accuracy could vary dramatically. Thanks to iNaturalist, lots of new data is always coming in, so the models are always improving.

Wow, @eshieh, this sounds amazing! The fact that it's all done locally is a huge plus for privacy and speed. I can't believe you’re able to label species at such a detailed level; that must save so much time. Plus, the ability to generate titles and descriptions? Genius! Can't wait to give it a try and see how it works with my nature photos. Keep up the great work!

This photo organizer tool is a game changer for anyone with tons of pictures! But I'm curious, does CrossPrism Photo Labeler for MacOS access photo data, potentially leading to data leaks?
Eric Shieh
@coracat Thanks! It's an Apple App Store app that is sandboxed, so the only photos it accesses are the ones users give it permissions to access. I'm not sure what you mean by data leaks. A big feature of being cloudless is that it doesn't need to send any photos over the internet, thus eliminating the potential for external mishandling of your data.
