Why we built CADET during development of our Unity game Dolven

While developing Dolven in Unity, we kept running into the same frustrating issue, long build times interrupting workflow and breaking momentum. Every time a new build started, it meant stopping what we were doing or constantly context switching while waiting.

CADET started as an internal solution to that problem. The goal was simple: allow builds and deployment tasks to run in the background so development work could continue uninterrupted.

What surprised us was how much smoother development felt once those interruptions were reduced. It made us realise this is probably a problem many other developers and studios deal with as well, especially on larger or multi-platform projects.

We d love to hear how other developers currently handle build interruptions, deployment workflows, and maintaining productivity during long build cycles.
