Hey there 👋

Anirudh () and I built Cracked as part of this summer’s YC batch.

It’s well known that Adobe AfterEffects and similar platforms are notoriously painful to use. Only a handful of individuals have mastered the motion graphics techniques required to make even simple animations.

Cracked lets anyone create animations with intuitive text prompts. Our goal is to make motion graphics truly accessible through promptable animation generation. We’re focused on building a motion graphics copilot that not only helps generate ideas, but also brings them to life.

this is super promising, I have been using Aftereffects to create these things. Would save hours if it does what it claims to be. Thanks for building, will definitely give it a go.
This seems like it would be useful for working on animations within an app! Thanks for creating it. One question: if working with vectors, is it possible to extract JSON as well

This is super exciting. Have always found it interesting how people had used stuff like Manim to code out amazing YT videos. But this will definitely be something much easier to use!! Looking forward to it

great vision, love it! One other low-hanging fruit for you guys might be motion animations that people create in no-code website builders like Framer. I use Framer for my website, and it would be a game-changer if Framer had a motion composer or something like that. that would be the death of threejs 😅

Framer/Webflow are a great ICP for this, a lot of this was inspired by seeing how many animations those sorts of websites have!
I love animation. I always add animation to my videos to make it more interactive. animation takes time doing it manually. If AI does this work for me its great.

This looks like a great addition to our motion graphic team. Waiting for the full launch! FYI - the playground has an error. 1. go to rain effect 2. play 3. increase particle count 4. play again 5. app crashes !!

Hi Kelly, Cracked sounds like a game-changer for the motion graphics industry! I love the idea of using text prompts to create animations. How detailed can the text descriptions get for generating animations?

Hey Alex, right now simple prompts work best, but it as able to some complex animation effects like squash/stretch on bounces!
Super excited for this! Hacking together an app myself and will definitely try to implement some of this stuff here :)
