Hi everyone! I’m Nate and my buddy Stephen and I built Covid Cards (https://covidcards.us). We wanted an easy way to share Covid-19 related stats for a location via email or social media, which led to the idea for Covid Cards. The concept is simple, you enter your location and we generate an image with basic stats that you can embed or share.
This is a passion project and a way for us to help out. It's 100% free and we have no plans on monetizing it in any way.
The technology behind the site is pretty cool. We generate the images on the fly for the first request and then cache them with a CDN for future requests.
We have a few different use cases in mind:
1. We have a feature that allows you to embed an image that will automatically update daily with the latest stats. We think that could be helpful for smaller news outlets, radio stations, and community sites to embed on their website.
2. If you're traveling or going to be traveling you can easily email a card with stats in locations you will be stopping, along with your destination. If some areas are higher risk, you could pick a different pitstop.
We are constantly thinking of new features to add but would love your feedback and suggestions.
