Cooldown - A safety net for your 3am tweets

by
Cooldown is a Chrome extension that adds a configurable countdown before you hit Send on Twitter and Reddit. Smart enough to ignore short messages only steps in when it's risky (long posts, ALL CAPS, trigger words, or 3am rants).

Hey PH 👋 Three weeks ago i almost replied "ok cool" to my CTO at 11pm. caught myself just in time. realized this happens to me weekly so i built a thing for it. Cooldown is dumb-simple. you hit send, a countdown appears, you cancel or send anyway. that's it. Tut the part i actually like is what i figured out testing it on myself for 2 weeks. you CANNOT pop a modal on every message. people would rip it out in 48h. So it only kicks in when the message is actually risky: - long posts - ALL CAPS rants - has a trigger word you defined (mine are "really", "hate", "quit" lol) - sent between 10pm and 5am (auto night mode because that's when nothing good happens) short "ok" / "lol" replies pass through silently. you forget it exists 90% of the time. then it saves your job once a month. few things to know: - 100% local, no backend, no tracking, no account - works on twitter and reddit. linkedin was on my list but their composer is in an iframe and i pretty much gave up - free covers the basics. pro is $3.99/mo for unlimited trigger words, longer delays, custom time ranges stuff i'd actually love feedback on: 1. does the smart mode thing make sense or would you want a delay on every message 2. besides twitter and reddit where do you regret-send the most. i need to know what to add next 3. honest take on $3.99/mo subscription vs a $19 one-time. classic indie dilemma first product launch ever btw so i'm here all day, drop anything 🙌 BeanieTheBean
