CookieGhost fake cookie instead of yours - Replace tracker cookies with convincing fakes in real-time.

Every privacy tool blocks or deletes cookies — and sites break or re-track you. CookieGhost does neither. It replaces tracker cookie values with realistic fakes. Websites accept them. Trackers get noise. Your logins stay safe. Free, open source, no account needed.

Hey everyone 👋 I'm Alexandre, and I built CookieGhost because I was tired of the privacy tool tradeoff: block cookies and half the web breaks, or delete them and get re-tracked 30 seconds later. So I tried a different approach — what if we let cookies exist, but replace their values with convincing fakes? Here's how it works: When a tracker like Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or Hotjar drops a cookie, CookieGhost intercepts it before it hits storage and swaps the value for a randomly generated one that's format-correct. A fake _ga value looks exactly like a real one. The tracker accepts it. The website works. But the profile they're building? Pure fiction. What it doesn't touch: Your login sessions, authentication tokens, CSRF protection — all safe. CookieGhost only targets confirmed tracking cookies. A few things I'm proud of: 60+ tracking cookie formats supported (GA, FB, TikTok, LinkedIn, Hotjar, HubSpot, and more) Three protection modes: Aggressive, Balanced, and Gentle Works on Chrome and Firefox (including mobile) Fully open source (MIT), zero data collection, no accounts, no servers The philosophy is simple: don't hide from surveillance — feed it garbage. I'd love your feedback. Try it, break it, tell me what's missing. And if you have a tracker cookie format I should add, open an issue on GitHub.
