Why I'm Building Compas AI - I got into tech at age 15, and my friends thought what I was doing was cool, so they asked me to teach them. Knowing their strengths and capabilities, I advised them to learn different tech skills tailored to their traits. Those who followed my advice are now thriving in their tech roles. However, the idea for Compas AI didn't strike me until I was promoted to Director General at DCSI Africa, an NGO that has trained over 15,000 African youths in digital skills for free. With access to program data, I noticed that about 7 out of 10 participants did not finish their chosen courses. We then allowed people to enroll in multiple courses, which increased retention as they could stick with the one they felt most comfortable with. This highlighted the need for personalized guidance in acquiring tech skills. Given the growing unemployment rate in Africa and the lure of the tech sector, it's clear that people need an assistant or guide to navigate their way. This realization led me to start working on the research and development of Compas AI with the directors at DCSI Africa.

Oh thank you @mashy, so majority of our users are new to tech, so the AI is trained to recommend popular and easy to learn careers and set the new emerging careers in the roadmap of the user. So let’s say a user is first recommended to learn Backend Dev, the AI then designs a personalized career map for the user to niche into let’s say Database Specialization in the next 16 months and then into Big Data in the next 32 months or so. So it’s guides them through out the journey, of course the career map recommendations would be based on the users feedback through out the journey.
