CollabX - Breaking Experience for experience loop

by
CollabX is breaking the “no experience, no opportunities” loop. Students gain real startup experience by solving business challenges, collaborating on projects, joining startup communities, and connecting with founders. Startups discover ambitious talent, hire interns, validate ideas, and build faster, all on one collaborative platform.

👋 Hey Product Hunt! I’m Akshat, builderr of CollabX. Like many students, I kept hearing the same thing: “You need experience to get opportunities.” But the question was always… how do you get experience if no one gives you the first opportunity? That experience loop inspired us to build CollabX. Instead of waiting for internships or jobs, students can work on real startup challenges, collaborate with founders, build meaningful projects, showcase their work, and become part of startup communities. At the same time, startups get access to ambitious talent, fresh ideas, and a place to discover future teammates. Our vision is simple: 🚀 Replace “Years of Experience” with “Proof of Work.” We’ve built features like startup challenges, project collaboration, communities, networking, portfolios, and internship opportunities to help students build credibility before their first job. This is just the beginning, and we’d genuinely love your feedback. What was the biggest challenge you faced when trying to get your first internship, job, or startup opportunity? We’d love to hear your story and build CollabX with the community. ❤️

The IIT Gandhinagar pedigree really shows in how clean and focused the platform feels. Love that students get actual pilot experience instead of fetching coffee.

Thank you so much, Melis! ❤️ That means a lot. We genuinely believe students learn the most by solving real problems, not by doing repetitive internship tasks. Our goal with CollabX is to help students build a portfolio of real startup work while giving founders access to fresh talent and ideas. We’d love to hear if there’s any feature you’d like to see on the platform!

How does CollabX handle matching when a startup needs a specific skill like ML or frontend and the student pool is mostly generalists, do you vet portfolios first or let founders filter after posting?

so basically it functions like founders / startups will post problems and students can work upon them without any prior experience or skills and they will be judged solely on the solutions submitted by them so we are not limiting anyone to not apply to any of the projects we are giving them free will to choose any and as many as they want in any domain and start building

Akshat, congrats on CollabX. Giving students real startup problems to solve instead of another generic internship is a much better way to build experience
