600 reviews at 4.8 on a coffee-themed Pomodoro app I built solo

by

just passed 600 reviews with a 4.8 average and 50K+ downloads.

I'm a solo developer. No team, no funding, no marketing budget. Just a Pomodoro timer with a coffee theme, tasks, stats and levels, shipped update after update for the past year and a half.

The thing that moved the needle wasn't a growth hack. It was replying to every single review and actually building what people asked for. Recurring tasks, leaderboards, growing plants during focus sessions, all of it came from user feedback.

Curious what other indie makers here have found: what actually drove your first reviews?
