So what makes you guys different from SoundCloud?
Hey Sean, great question. We get this one a lot, so we actually addressed it on our FAQ (). From a platform perspective, Clyp exists up-stream from Soundcloud. Meaning that, as a musician, I upload to Clyp during the music creation and song writing phase, using it as a simple way to share quick song ideas and get feedback. Whereas Soundcloud is more of a publishing platform, Clyp is geared more towards creators. Another important differentiator is that you don't need an account to use Clyp. You can upload and record anonymously.
I'm a professional musician and have been using Clyp for a while now, it's part of my creative process. My bandmates and I use it to bounce around ideas, record snippets at practice to remember later, or share early versions of stuff we're working on in the studio. It's always been super easy to use and reliable, but even more so after the recent update. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Clyp team has in store for the future as they focus more on us "creator" types. PS That's sick that Slowhand himself Eric Clapton uses Clyp! Somebody mail that guy a "Eric Clypton" shirt.
Thanks Zack! Glad to hear Clyp is serving you and your bandmates well. Don't hesitate to reach out with any product suggestions :) Cheers!
yessssssss Eric Clypton!
What’s good Product Hunt! Tyson here from Clyp. We’re psyched to show you guys what we’ve been working on. Clyp is the easiest way to upload, record and share audio - give it a try, you don’t even need an account. My Co-Founder and I created it because, as musicians ourselves, we needed a simple way to share quick song ideas and get feedback without having to jump through a bunch of hoops or deal with the pressure of releasing an entire track. Today we’re thrilled to introduce an all-new, completely redesigned look for Clyp that includes a slick new logo, a more user-friendly interface and a refined focus on making it easier than ever to upload and share audio. We’ll be hanging out most of the day, can’t wait to hear your thoughts! Cheers, Tyson PS - Here are a few Clyps to check out: A resident Clypsters getting feedback on a new track: Biblical argument for Bernie Sanders: Eric Clapton’s latest tribute to Prince:
Really digging the new look and that I can just jump in and listen to Clyp's off the front page. Just got lost down the random Clyp rabbit hole and am currently jamming some jazz tune.
random clyp is my favorite. , what's up next for Clyp?
Yes, the random Clyp button is quite the rabbit hole. Now that we've launched our big branding update and redesign, we're going to be focusing more on launching new creator-focused features. Things like high quality file preservation, so if you upload a .WAV file we will preserve that file type both for streaming and for downloading. That's just one of a number of exciting new features we have coming down the pipeline.
I have been a fan of Clyp for a long time and have only good things to say about it. Rock on!
Thanks Chris!
Love what these guys are doing. Great team and cool product.
Thanks for the kind words Cody!
This is great! I'm really glad to see that quick audio hosting is getting it's much needed love on the Internet.
New design looks awesome! Light feel and simple to navigate just like using the product. Nice work fellas!
Clyp delivers to you what they really promise, a really easy to use piece of software. That's very hard to find today. A f*#*ng easy to use piece of software that works like a charm leaving you with zero complexity. I use it actually to save my three years old son's speeches. When that happens I need a very easy-to-use recorder that I can always carry with me. Thanks Clyp!. thanks a lot for saving my most precious memories... keep rocking it!
Thanks David! That's awesome that you've been using it to record your son's speeches :) We discover new uses for Clyp everyday, and one's like that always bring a big smile to my face.
Keep up the great work, gents! This is THE way I send audio to friends.
Thanks! That's been our goal from the start, to be THE easiest way to share audio.
