ClingNote - Notes that attach to your files and work

by
ClingNote attaches a note to whatever file or app you have open. Excel workbook, Power BI report, PDF, project file - if it’s open and ClingNote is running, there’s a note ready for you. Add something new or pick up exactly where you left off last time. No saving notes in random folders, no hunting for the right one later. Open the work, and its note is there.

I built ClingNote because I kept running into the same problem: I’d have notes about a spreadsheet, Power BI report, PDF, or project file, but those notes lived somewhere else. Then days or months later I’d reopen the work and have to remember where I put the context. ClingNote started with a simple idea: if a file is open, its note should already be there. So instead of saving notes into folders and hunting them down later, ClingNote attaches notes to the work itself. Open the file again and your note comes back with it. Over time it grew from a quick-note idea into something more complete, with multiple notes, rich formatting, search, pop-out notes, and a full workspace. But I’ve tried to keep that original idea at the center: open the work, and the context is waiting for you. I built it for myself first, and I’m really excited to finally put it in front of other people. I’d love to hear where it fits into your workflow, what feels useful, and what you’d change.
