flick - Pick the browser, app or email for every link you click.

flick is a browser picker for mac. click any link and it opens in the right browser or app, by a rule you set once or a picker at your cursor. email links too. strips tracking junk, unwraps safe links, private, on device, free to start

heyy folks .. am haider, solo dev behind flick (and PopTask, some of you know me from that) flick started from one small daily annoyance: i'd click a link in slack and it'd open in the wrong browser .. work stuff in my personal safari, a figma link in chrome instead of the figma app, a zoom link in a tab instead of the meeting .. so i'd copy the url, switch browsers, paste .. dozens of times a day MacOS lets you pick ONE default browser, and most of us use two or three, right? so flick becomes your default browser, and then gets out of the way: → rules you set once: github in chrome, youtube in safari, teams links in the teams app .. you can even write them in plain english ("youtube in safari, github in chrome") and it turns that into rules → a picker at your cursor when there's no rule: press 1 to 9 to pick, no mouse needed → email links too: mail, outlook, spark, or gmail in the browser you choose → send this tab: ⌃⌥S throws the page you're reading into another browser → outlook safe links and google redirects unwrapped, tracking junk stripped, before anything opens → recents + spotlight, so you can find that link from tuesday and the part i care about most: nothing leaves your mac! no account, no analytics, no server .. the app store label says data not collected and it means it 💯 free forever for the picker, shortcuts, cleanup and 5 rules genuinely curious .. how many browsers do you actually use day to day, and what's the link that always opens in the wrong one?

Setting domain-specific defaults is killer! Can finally stop Figma from opening a million browser tabs 😂
