Chess Screen Time - Puzzles - Replace scrolling with an Instagram-like chess puzzle feed.

by
Most chess apps feel like work. You open them to "study," but when you're tired, you end up on Instagram instead. I built this to replace that muscle memory. It uses a vertical, infinite feed designed for mindless swiping, but with curated chess puzzles. No menus, no lobbies, and no friction, just open the app and start scrolling. It even includes timed nudges during your peak distraction hours to help you choose puzzles over Reels.

Hi Product Hunt! I’ll be honest: I was losing hours every day to Instagram Reels. I tried everything to break the habit, from uninstalling the app to even deactivating my account, but the muscle memory was just too deep. I’d pick up my phone for one second, and an hour later, I was still stuck in a scroll. At the same time, I was frustrated that I hadn't practiced chess in months. I kept telling myself I didn't have the time, even though my screen time report showed I clearly did. I realized I couldn't just stop the habit, so I decided to replace it. I built Chess Screen Time - Puzzles to swap that mindless swiping motion for something better. Instead of fighting the urge to scroll, I just changed the content. I’ve been using my own solution for a month now and my screen time has plummeted. More importantly, I’m finally sharpening my game every single day without it feeling like study or work. What’s inside: Infinite Scroll: A vertical feed of curated puzzles that feels just like a social app. Frictionless UI: No lobbies or menus. Open the app, solve a puzzle, and swipe to the next. Nudge System: Reminders during your peak distraction hours to help you choose puzzles over Reels. I’d love to hear your feedback! Does the idea of a productive scroll feel like it would work for your habits? Let’s chat in the comments!
