We've been researching startup and tech events for Causo, and figured we'd share what we found.

There are plenty of event calendars out there, but most just tell you when and where something is happening.

As a founder, that's only half the information you actually need.

What I wanted to know was:

  • Which investors actually attend?

  • Is the event relevant to my startup's stage and industry?

  • Can I apply to pitch, and what could I win?

  • Are there discounted or free startup passes?

  • Is it worth spending a few days and potentially thousands of euros attending?

So we built a free startup events directory:

We've now researched 148 events across 51 countries, covering everything from major conferences to smaller, more specialised startup and investor events.

A few coming up:

Oct 13 - SaaStock, Dublin - B2B SaaS and AI. 128 investors listed.

Oct 14 - Luxembourg Venture Days - 330+ investors, with a focus on connecting startups and investors.

Oct 14 - Venture Atlanta - 450+ investors, particularly relevant for startups looking at the US market.

Oct 26 - Deep Tech Summit, Warsaw - 150+ investors and 250+ startups. Focused on deeptech.

Nov 9 - Web Summit, Lisbon - One of the largest startup conferences, with dedicated startup and investor programs.

Nov 18 - Slush, Helsinki - Particularly interesting for founders raising capital.

For each event, we're trying to collect the information that actually matters when deciding whether to attend:

  • Dates, location, industry and stage

  • Attendance and investor numbers

  • Investor firms and speakers

  • Startup tickets, discounts and eligibility

  • Pitch competitions and prizes

  • How to apply or participate

  • Links to official sources

We're also trying to be careful with the data. If an organiser doesn't publish something, we'd rather leave it blank than invent a number.

You can filter events by country, industry, startup stage, audience and more.

The whole thing is completely free. No signup required.

Hopefully it saves a few founders some research time, and maybe helps someone find the right event to meet their next investor, customer or co-founder.

And I'd love some input from other founders:

What's one startup event you attended that was genuinely worth the money and time?

We're looking to add more events, especially smaller ones that don't get as much attention but are actually useful for founders.
