CareTracker - Helping families turn medication chaos into daily progress

by
CareTracker was vibe coded by a lawyer helping his mom manage a battle with cancer and an aging mind. CareTracker allows Caregivers to monitor and verify that a loved one has taken their medicine on time with in-app video verification. The patient is motivated to pariticpate because Caregivers set up rewards or upload photos/videos of grandkids, which the app will "award" to the patient after adherence goals are hit (i.e., 100% adherence in a day = cute video of your grandkid cheering you on).

My mom— a retired Brigadier General in the Army, current cancer fighter, and professional ass-kicker—was juggling 21 meds across 5 windows a day. Pill organizers, calendars, and nagging FaceTimes weren’t cutting it. So I built a simple web app that sends push reminders, prompts her to record a quick video proof (optional but powerful), and alerts her “care team” (my siblings + me) if she misses a window.

When she logs a dose, she also sees a motivational drop—grandkids cheering her on, goofy videos, whatever keeps her smiling. Her adherence jumped from ~30% to 95%+ once we paired verification with encouragement.

What you get:

  • Push reminders + optional in-app video verification (no uploads, just live takes).

  • Shared caregiver view with chat + cheering.

  • Motivation layer (auto-plays whatever media you upload after successful adherence).

  • Configurable goals/rewards with built-in adherence tracking.

  • Works as a web app added to your home screen → sends push notifications like any native app.

It’s free, there’s no paywall, and the only thing I ask is that you confirm a valid email so your care team stays secure. If it helped my family, I’m certain it can help others too. I’d love your feedback to keep making it better.
