Manufacturers have more data than ever. Why are basic operational questions still so hard to answer?
Manufacturing teams aren't short on data.
ERP. MRP. MES. Scheduling systems. Spreadsheets. Production reports. Tribal knowledge.
Yet ask a seemingly simple question:
Can we take this order?
Can we ship it on time?
Where's the bottleneck?
What puts the schedule at risk?
And suddenly we're opening spreadsheets, checking multiple systems, calling production, reconciling conflicting numbers, and trying to figure out which answer to trust.
That's the problem we're exploring with CapacityIQ.
The idea isn't to replace the ERP or add another dashboard. It's to connect the operational signals manufacturers already have and turn them into answers people can actually use to make decisions.
I'm curious how others see this problem:
Is the bigger issue missing data — or having plenty of data but not enough operational context to make it useful?
I'd genuinely like to hear where you've seen this break down.
