BuyGit MCP is coming soon to Product Hunt — I’d love your feedback
Hi everyone,
I’m preparing to launch BuyGit MCP Server on Product Hunt soon, and I’d love to get some early feedback before the public launch.
BuyGit MCP is an MCP server that lets developers search and evaluate Git projects directly inside tools like Claude, Cursor, Cline, Continue, and other MCP-compatible clients.
The goal is not to be another raw GitHub search wrapper. BuyGit MCP is designed to help AI coding tools recommend projects with more useful context, such as:
license information
license compatibility checks
project popularity signals
risk and safety indicators
alternative project suggestions
external GitHub repository audits
structured results that AI agents can actually use
The core idea is simple:
Before a developer chooses a library, starter kit, template, or open-source project, an AI assistant should be able to answer:
“Can I actually use this?”
“Is the license safe for my project?”
“Are there better alternatives?”
“Does this repo look risky or outdated?”
That is what BuyGit MCP is trying to solve.
I’m currently preparing the Product Hunt launch and would really appreciate honest feedback from developers, MCP users, and AI tooling builders.
A few things I’d especially like feedback on:
Does this MCP feel useful in a real Claude/Cursor workflow?
Which feature sounds most valuable: license compatibility, risk signals, alternatives, or repo audit?
Is the positioning clear enough?
What would make you actually try it?
This is still in the launch-preparation stage, so feedback now would be extremely helpful.
I’ll share the Product Hunt link once it goes live.
Thanks in advance — I’d really appreciate your thoughts.
