Why do local gyms still run on 5 different software tools and a plastic card?
Hey Product Hunt community, Rafik here!
Over the last few months of building in the B2B SaaS space, I’ve spent a lot of time talking to gym owners. I quickly realized that almost all of them are dealing with a massive operational headache: software fragmentation.
The Problem: To run a modern gym, owners are forced to piece together a Frankenstein system. They use one platform for billing, another CRM for leads, an Excel sheet for staff shifts, and a completely disconnected, expensive hardware system (like plastic keycards or fobs) just to open the front door. It creates friction for the staff and a disjointed experience for the members.
The Solution: I decided to build ButaGYM OS to replace that chaos with a single, unified B2B2C ecosystem. It bridges the gap between the gym owner, the trainers, and the members in one place.
Why ButaGYM? Instead of just building another CRM, we built an operating system that connects the physical space to the digital experience:
Zero-Hardware Access: We connect directly to the gym's existing physical turnstiles. Members just use the ButaGYM app to scan a dynamic QR code to enter. No new hardware, no more plastic cards.
The 100% Adoption Advantage: Because the app is the physical key to the building, gyms get 100% digital adoption from day one.
Value-Driven Member App: Once members are in the app, we provide them with free AI-generated workout plans.
Trainer Marketplace: Coaches can sell personal training directly through the app, and to help gyms grow, we take 0% commission on those sales for the first 12 months.
I'm currently onboarding our first pilot gyms right now. For the other founders here who are building for brick-and-mortar businesses—how did you convince your first local clients to finally ditch their legacy tools?
