by

Using Buffer's newly designed and improved salary calculator, anyone can see what they'd make with Buffer's latest salary formula no matter where they live in the world.

The salary calculator takes into account a person's role, experience level, and the cost of living in the city they're in.

Big fan of Buffer's transparency. I think this is a great idea for talent acquisition.
, your ssl certificate isn't valid for It throws the page as unsafe/insecure 🔥
Thanks ! Great catch. We've fixed the link there; the journey page is hosted with a 3rd party, and we don't quite have SSL setup there yet. So the correct link is — let me know if that works OK for you. 🙏
Works great, easy mistake to make. This is somewhat irrelevant to the post itself but just to let you know as someone that has never heard of Buffer before. There seems to be no where on the website that states where the company is based, I checked the about homepage, faq, and about us with no luck. Overall great job!
they are all over the world and they closed their "office" they just mean what they say "We're a fully distributed team, meaning that we'll be fixing bugs and replying to your questions from around the world!" :)
Woohooo! So proud of the incredible work y'all are doing! 😍
BOOOOMMM amazing! 🙌
Big fan of buffer and their transparent strategy .. govt. organisations should follow the same specially for all their projects and people/companies involved with it
This is cool, however it's ironic that Buffer doesn't have any open positions listed
Great spot, Garett! We're a bit slower at hiring this year. We recently hired an Engineering Manager and we're interviewing for an Android Develop now. There should be more openings in 2018. :)
That's great news re open roles. I've been encouraging friends to keep an eye out for job opportunities with you. I have great respect for this transparent and distributed approach.
Does it seem weird to anyone else that (at least for software engineers) they're aiming at the 50th percentile for salary? That seems like a great way to get mediocre engineers.
Not if everything else lines up. Benefits, etc.
This is cool! I think it's also useful for getting some context of what your market value is as well.
Am I the only one troubled with this Product Hunt listing's URL? :(
Wow. Bold move to list this, including C level figures. Are there numbers just cash equivalent or are stock options included ?
