Buffer - Search everything you copy, even text inside screenshots

Buffer 3.0 is a free, open-source clipboard manager for macOS. Everything you copy — text, links, images — is saved to a searchable local history, one ⇧⌘V away. It reads text inside screenshots with on-device Vision OCR, lets you edit any saved snippet inline, and organizes clips with tags, bookmarks, and multi-select paste. v3.0 adds an interactive image canvas, history tiers up to unlimited, and clipboard noise suppression. MIT-licensed. No accounts, no cloud — everything stays on your Mac.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built Buffer because I constantly lost snippets, commands, and bits of text between apps. Existing clipboard managers felt heavy, cluttered, or tried to sync everything to the cloud. Buffer is a small, native macOS menu bar app that: – Keeps a searchable history of everything you copy (text + images) – Lets you open it from anywhere with ⇧⌘V – Runs Apple’s on-device Vision OCR to extract text from screenshots, fully offline – Stores everything locally on your Mac — no accounts, no cloud I’d love feedback on the UX, performance, and what you’d like to see next (filters, better image handling, multi-device, etc.). Thanks for checking it out!
