A few months ago, I realized I had spent an entire workday sitting — in front of a standing desk I wasn’t even using. My back hurt, my energy was low, and none of the existing tools really helped. I didn’t want rigid Pomodoro timers or overly gamified apps. I just wanted something simple that would nudge me to stand and move — and grow with me over time.
So I built Break in Motion: a lightweight Mac app that encourages you to stand regularly, with reminders that gently increase your standing time as you build the habit. Friends started using it too. They found it helpful, so I decided to share it with the world.
