Why is it still so hard for artists and DJs to share a professional press kit in 2026?

by

I’ve been thinking a lot about how discoverability has improved for independent artists, DJs, and musicians, but the professional side of presentation still feels surprisingly broken.

Artists can get discovered through Instagram, TikTok, SoundCloud, Spotify, YouTube, word of mouth, and other channels more easily than before. But when someone actually wants to learn more, book them, write about them, or share them internally, the experience often becomes messy very quickly.

It usually turns into a mix of social links, streaming links, old PDFs, image folders, outdated bios, and scattered contact information. The artist may be great, but the presentation creates friction.

I’m curious how others here see this.

Do you think independent artists still lose real opportunities because their materials are fragmented?

And if so, what should a modern, professional, booking-ready artist presence actually include today?
