@midoriya1995 The music player sounds like a great addition. Any plans to let users customize playlists or control playback directly from the BooBar interface?

@joseph_walker2 Yes, playback controls are already part of the direction.
Right now BooBar can use the macOS Now Playing system to show the current track and provide lightweight controls like play/pause, previous, and next when the active music app supports them. Playlist customization is not built in yet, but it’s a natural area to explore later, especially if it can stay simple and not turn BooBar into a heavy music app.
It would be interesting if future updates allowed integration with Spotify or Apple Music directly.

@debra_salt Right now BooBar uses macOS Now Playing, so it can already surface and control music from apps like Apple Music, Spotify, and other players when they expose playback state to the system.
Weekly updates are impressive, but I honestly hope stability stays ahead of feature count. A lot of apps lose their charm when they grow too fast.

@advin_jadis Totally agree. Weekly updates shouldn’t mean piling on features just to look busy.
For BooBar, I’m trying to keep the pace focused on polish, stability, and the core experience first: fewer rough edges, better reliability, and features only when they genuinely make the Mac feel more useful. I’d rather BooBar stay small, fast, and lovable than become a crowded app that forgets why people liked it in the first place.
I love seeing inside developers treat samll desktop utilities like living products instead of one time realeses.That consistency matters more than flashy launches.
Adding music support sounds great, although now I am wondering whether BooBar is becoming a focused utility or evolving into a full desktop companion. Either direction could work depending on the vision
