Hi everyone, we’re really excited to share Bonsai’s latest product, Accounting & Tax Assistant! For 3+ years Bonsai has focused on the freelancer’s core workflow: proposals, contracts, time tracking and tasks, invoicing, and online payments. Our goal has always been to automate the admin work freelancers hate doing or don’t know how to do. However, we realized that this annoying work doesn’t end when the freelancer gets paid. Many freelancers struggle with managing their finances, setting and tracking financial goals, and being prepared for tax time. So we built this new product to make money management as easy as the rest of a freelancer’s workflow. Happy to answer any questions about this product, Bonsai in general, or anything else freelancing related!
The hardest thing for a freelancer is to start their own startup. Usually, they are solopreneurs and do all the work alone. When I opened my online business, it was a website for online classes. I spent a lot of time working by making signs and even more for running the business. The first period was very hard for me. Luckily I found , an online service that helps to run your online business. They work with all the documentation and do all the accounting. Since we became partners, I don't have problems running the business.
I'm always reading up on freelance taxes, what my deductibles are every year and going back and forth with my accountant in the final month for filing taxes - accounting's always been a little tricky for me as a consultant. I've been using Bonsai's Accounting features for the last 2 months - it's a great product. Happy to answer any questions!

Everything except the tax assistant works globally. The tax assistant is US only for now, but we do plan to support other countries. Historically, we've always started with 1 country and then expanded to other countries based on demand. So this will happen :)
Love using Bonsai to manage my invoices. Been a happy user for more than a year. I'm surprised you don't have an option to add Transferwise payment details? Loads of freelancer use it to get payments. I have to add my details in the notes as of now and the invoice show 'Ask Sumit for payment details' which doesn't look very professional.
Woohoo, glad to see you here Sumit. Didn't know you were a Bonsai customer too! I agree on the Transferwise integration but I'll let answer your question.

great feedback on Transferwise, it's definitely something we've heard many times before. We're constantly adding new payment methods and that's top of the list.

How about introducing tax assistant for India? Taxes have become really messy for all business owners since the introduction of GST.
Definitely agree, I'll add in a vote for India for supported countries. We prioritise support for a country based on customer demand so if there's enough demand - why not? Thanks for the feedback Neha!
