The moment I heard of NFTs back in 2020 this was the first use case I thought of, yet lacked the resources to make it. Initially I just wanted to build libpam-web3, but the rest of the project flowed naturally from that delivery. With just a handful of corporations controlling the cloud sector, with increasingly tyrannical censorship laws, deplatforming and cancel culture, the need for autonomous, censorship-resistant ways of sharing information becomes greater by the day. Blockhost allows anyone to host, and earn a buck, using decentralized, permission-less infrastructure. To get an external IP address, the setup automatically configures an ipv6 prefix by connecting to a decentralized ipv6 tunnel broker from a registry contract. Currently in testing. The flow fully works from building the ISO to provisioning the first VM, yet the broker contracts are only on Sepolia testnet for now.
