You've lost me as a customer.

Pros:

I like the way this product works. The Interface is great and it helped me sort my work-home e-mail easily.

Cons:

I wasn't eager to pay $30 a year. The jump to $99 dollars is too much for what feels like basic features that I expect to be included.

Hi Matthijs - glad to hear you like the interface, we are really proud of it! If you're just switching between two accounts, you might be interested in using the 2.0 Basic plan (free!). Pro allows for unlimited accounts, which is a big perk (along with Google apps now). For Advanced, we wanted to add heavy hitters like Chrome Extensions & Unified Search. Hopefully, you'll consider these options, and maybe even the referral bonus to get Advanced completely free.

This update doesn't feel like anything groundbreaking, yet the fee is so high.

Paying $30/year for an email client is not terrible, but $99 is. Doesn't feel like I'm getting enough value back. Competitor email clients include a lot of these integrations for a much more reasonable price. Looks like I'm going back to Spark.

Pros:

Great alternative to email in the browser

Cons:

Waaaay too expensive

Nadia Tatlow
Hi Valera - thanks, we think it's a pretty great alternative to the browser and tab nightmare as well. The work we put into adding Chrome Extension support was extensive (no pun intended). Would love to keep you; maybe we can entice you with our referral program. 5 friends = 1 year of Advanced free :)

I paid for pro a while back, will finish using it through mt paid term, but then I'm moving on to https://getstation.com/ which is completely free and offers a lot more.

Pros:

Helps clean up the browser hell from using more than one email account.

Cons:

$100 for advanced? Really

Nadia Tatlow
Thanks for this, Kevin. We're offering a few great coupon codes and a referral bonus that will knock your socks off, so check those out before you make the hard transition 😬

it doesn't offer a lot more, its actually less, but it does look the same. i'd try Wavebox. A lot cheaper than Shift and more than Station.

I am a Shift Pro user, and was quite happy to pay $19.99 per year for it. I'm still quite happy to pay $29.99 per year. $99 is waaaaaayyyyy too expensive. To put that into perspective, that costs as much as a year of Dropbox Pro (1 TB of storage), twice as much as my financial program (YNAB), and more than Office 365! For basically a web broswer wrapper.

Roll the features from Advanced into Pro, charge no more than $29.99 per year and I'm in. Otherwise, I'm off to Station. It's a shame really, because I love this app. Just not enough to pay $8.33 per month.

Pros:

Very useful, love multiple accounts

Cons:

The price

Tobyn Sowden
Thanks, Chris! I am glad to hear we have you onboard as a Pro Shift'er. We've added a few nice features - Google Services and Notification Muting + 2.0 is really fast. Hope you can take advantage of a coupon code to upgrade, as we will prorate your current subscription. OR refer a few friends, and pay nothing!

I just had to download to see how this compares to Station because I’ve been using Station on the daily ever since I found out about it and have it on my Mac and PC.

Pros:

>Beautiful UI

>Extensions are nice --is there adblocker?

>Condensing Drive, Calendar, & Gmail in one circle in menu

>Back&Forward button

Cons:

>PRIC3$- as a college student, i wouldn't purchase this (feels like a 3 dollar sign item...)

>Little apps in comparison to station

I've been a pro user for a while now and I'm liking the product a lot.

But now with the recent release I've to pay 99$/year for the "advanced" version?! At least make it free for long time users ...

I'll be canceling my pro subscription immediately and moving to some other product as this is just not reasonable any more

Pros:

Great product

Cons:

Pricing is insane!

Nadia Tatlow
Hi Boris - thanks, and you glad you like it overall! We're honoring existing pricing for our founding Pro users (anyone with a subscription prior to the 2.0 launch). The referral program, and coupons are great options as well.
Elior Boukhobza

Not like I'm complaining that it's not a freeware, but even the free version doesn't look that appealing. It's basically Gmail/Outlook inside an application container, something that someone with basic skills with JS/Electron can do (and which has been already done by Franz and some others).

And since there is no demo about the "Premium features", I don't know what the application can do. So yeah, removed it.

Pros:

Superb UI

Cons:

Not useful enough for the free version

Charlie Apps

Right now as a Pro user I really enjoy the product and the original Pro price fell just within a reasonable cost. The new service price is quite a leap and not being able to even trial it makes me incredibly reluctant. If the product is as great as you're suggesting, your customers will have no problem paying the $99 after a trial period. If not, there is something wrong here.

Pros:

Well thought out product

Cons:

Pricing is not reasonable

Nadia Tatlow
Hi Charlie, glad you've enjoyed the Shift Pro experience; you won't be disappointed with the Pro 2.0 update (at no additional cost to you!); it really is faster and more streamlined than ever + you get Google Services, and custom Notification Muting in your current plan. Agreed, Advanced is a whole other tier. The features, and pricing, reflect that. We're building a sustainable business model behind it, and opening up as many options to enjoy the most popular features long-term.

So I've been using Shift Pro for around 6 months. I like that interface is crafted to perfection. But ..

Instead of bloating Shift with additional services like whatsapp, messenger - focus on stability and polish email first .

I was ready to cancel my subscription because my shift install was so GOD DAMN SLOW with 5 accounts added (32 GB Ram here, desktop, SSD). Shift 2.0 looks a little bit faster.. at first so i'm gonna give it one more try.

Also:

What is this guys ? I paid for PRO version. Don't need advanced stuff yet so I WANT THIS OUT. Why you keep interface bloated with features that i can't (and don't want to) use ? Please do something with that. So misleading.

New pricing

Everything about price was already said. You're using someone's else work. Your app is kinda just a frontend for web services. 99 / year ? You really have guts to came up with price like that :).

Pros:

Nice and clean interface

Cons:

Pricing.. Seriously ? Don't need additional services. Just focus on email.

Excited to try this out, as someone with tons of accounts. Unfortunately the setup has a critical crash in Windows 10, some kind of conflict with Discord. Just a heads up to those with Discord installed. Hope to see this fixed soon!
Tobyn Sowden
@pbadeer Sounds like Shift is right up your alley! I've flagged this bug with my team, should be fixed shortly. Appreciate the heads up!
Tobyn Sowden
@pbadeer just wanted to follow up on this with you. Our team dug into the issue you mentioned. We installed Discord in Windows 10 and then installed Shift 2.0 again, and were able to use Shift normally. Do you mind trying again? If any issues, please email us directly (hello@tryshift.com) so we can get it sorted for you!
Preston Badeer
@tryshift @tobyns Thanks, but no luck. I tried again numerous times with reboots and clean downloads. I filed a support ticket on your website earlier today with the full setup log. I hope that helps!
Nadia Tatlow
@pbadeer thank you! Our support team is on it. 👍
