Becoming - your journal that writes back

by
Most journaling apps are built around streaks, habits, and consistency metrics. Becoming is built around something different: the idea that the value of journaling isn't the act itself, but what you notice about yourself over time. After every entry, you get a short reflection, reflecting your own words back in a way that makes you hear them differently. Every week you get a report of your patterns: recurring themes, emotional tone, what keeps coming up.

I have journaled for years, and I'm lucky to have spent years in therapy with a great therapist who challenged me and help me see how my thoughts have changed over time. As someone who has used AI since 2022 (though never for reflection or therapy), about 5 months ago I asked it to give me observations who I am and how I've changed over time. The result was so fascinating that I sent screenshots to all my closest friends and spend days thinking about it. I realized that a journal that could do that on a daily and weekly basis could help people tremendously with their own growth, personal reflections and mindfulness, and that a "Spotify Wrapped" style review of your own life and thoughts every season would be a fascinating way to reflect on your life and thoughts. I built this for myself and shared it with friends and family who have been using it themselves over the last few months, and now I want to share it more broadly.
