I’ve always been a fan of the classic woodcut/engraved aesthetic—specifically the iconic cover of Poor Charlie’s Almanack. I couldn't find a simple tool to recreate that vertical line-screen effect, so I built one for myself. I vibe-coded this free online tool to convert photos into stunning artistic crosshatch line drawings. 18 unique presets, customizable settings, instant processing. 100% browser-based.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’ve always loved the sophisticated, minimalist look of the Poor Charlie’s Almanack cover. I wanted that same effect for my own photos, but I didn't want to use AI. I wanted something deterministic and clean. To be honest, I vibe coded this whole thing as a weekend hobby project. I focused on getting the algorithm to translate pixel brightness into line weight just right to hit that classic woodcut/engraved vibe. Since this was a labor of love for my own use, I’ve made it open-source too. I’m sharing it here for any other fans of minimalist design or Charlie Munger’s aesthetic who want a quick way to create cool avatars and posters. Play with your photos, enjoy, and let me know what you think!
