BackiGo started as a simple iPhone app with one goal: make it easy to back up your photos to a USB drive.
After the first launch, your feedback pushed it further: a native Mac app, full iCloud Photos library backups, iCloud Drive backups, and support for Live Photos, NAS drives, cloud storage, and contacts.
Over the past 18 months, I’ve rebuilt BackiGo into a backup and restore app for Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
Why build this when iCloud already exists?
Because syncing and keeping an independent backup solve different problems. With iCloud Photos, deleting a photo on one device also deletes it from your other synced devices. I wanted a separate copy I could keep, browse, and restore—even after removing the original.
