Hi Product Hunt, I'm Anish. Online astrology comes in two kinds, and I don't like either. One pastes your sun sign into a chatbot and prints whatever comes back. The other tells you your chart has a terrible combination and sells you the gemstone or the puja that fixes it. You can never catch either one out. So I went to the source. The Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra is the oldest full book of Vedic astrology. I spent months entering all 4,197 of its verses, comparing them across every printing I could find, and turning what they say into 2,103 rules a program can check against a birth chart. Your reading is written in plain English. Every paragraph ends with the verse it came from, and the verse is printed at the back in Sanskrit and English. The free articles on the site go further: each verse they cite links to its page in a public-domain 1899 printing of the text. What it won't do: - tell you your future (nobody can), - sell you a fix. Remedies in the text are things you do yourself. - scare you. Where the text talks about death, the reading doesn't. - make anything up. If no verse says it, it isn't in your reading. A full 61-page sample, made for my own chart and not edited, is on the home page, so you can judge it before paying. The reading is $19, one time. AstroEngine is an experiment from Prayogsala, the lab where I film and write up everything I try, including what fails. I'd really like to hear where you think it falls short.
